Cosmopolitan
International Presents Last Installment in
Over Half-Million Dollar Pledge

In the mid 1980s,
Cosmopolitan
International was instrumental in establishing the Strelitz Diabetes
Institutes at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Continuing support throughout
the years has helped the Institutes develop into a world-renowned comprehensive
medical center that stands at the forefront of diabetes research, clinical
care and education.
Cosmopolitan International's funds
provide personnel support and supplies for the molecular biology laboratory
under the direction of Dr. David Taylor-Fishwick.
In December of 2006 local chapter
Cosmopolitan representatives presented the foundation with $69,658,
raised by clubs around the country. The check is the last installment
of a $644,706.60 commitment, exceeding their initial pledge by almost
$15,000.
